National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN)
Know your Strengths and Weaknesses
NAPLAN test results provide a clear picture about a student’s skill level to their parents and teachers. Though the basic skills are generally covered under the school curriculum, our tutoring help fill the gaps in their learning.
Test preparation through practice
Year 3,5,7,9 students follow the Maths and English curriculum; however, our tutors focus on NAPLAN by giving test style questions for home work. Students would be presented with practice tests to make them aware of the style of questions to be expected in the NAPLAN tests.
YEAR 9 NAPLAN score matters now
Students will have to prove they meet the standard by achieving Band 8 results or above in Year 9 NAPLAN reading, writing and numeracy tests.

NAPLAN Test Areas (Years 3,5,7,9)

Literacy
Reading practice with a magazine containing a range of texts that illustrate different writing styles. Students read the texts provided then answer related questions.
Writing practice with a ‘writing stimulus’ and asking students to write a response in a particular text type .i.e. narrative writing, persuasive writing.
Language conventions practice by revising spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Numeracy
The numeracy practice develops students’s problem-solving and reasoning skills across three mathematics content areas
Number and Algebra
Measurement and Geometry
Statistics and Probability
